An 8-day Lemosho climb for the best acclimatization, followed by a safari built around reaching the northern Serengeti's Mara River for the chance of a crossing (seasonal, typically July-September).
Itinerary
Day 1
Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp
Trek through montane forest.
Day 2
Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp
Climb onto the Shira Plateau.
Day 3
Shira 1 to Shira 2 Camp
Gentle walk across the plateau.
Day 4
Shira 2 to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
Acclimatization hike, descend to Barranco.
Day 5
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Scramble up the Barranco Wall.
Day 6
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Trek to base camp.
Day 7
Summit via Uhuru Peak, descend to Mweka Camp
Midnight summit push.
Day 8
Descend to Mweka Gate, transfer to Arusha
Final descent and certificates.
Day 9
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Afternoon game drive.
Day 10
Tarangire to Ngorongoro Crater
Crater game drive on arrival.
Day 11
Ngorongoro to Northern Serengeti
Repositioning drive toward the Mara River area.
Day 12
Full Day Mara River Area
Full day watching for river crossings (seasonal).
